So, is there a middle ground between the two? I have almost resigned to going the Control4 route, but trying to avoid it.
Loxone vs control4 drivers#
I would rather spend time writing automations and not the drivers for devices. I know Home Assistant can do most of what I need to do, but it is a lot of effort, and I am having to write my own drivers for devices that are not supported yet. I randomly purchase new things, like more light switches, and don't want to have to pay someone to add them every time. I have been trying to avoid the Control4 route, since it will not let me add my own devices on the fly.

(I have many devices not supported by Home Assistant) *IP Control prefered over IR *Ubiquity UniFi throughout, not sure anything really needs to integrate.ĭevices: Roku 4 Sony Reciever (No HA Driver) Visio TV (Haven't checked HA) Samsung Bluray (Haven't checked HA) Nvidia Shield Denon Reciever Sony Projector (No HA Driver) Panasonic Bluray (Sadly no IP control that I can find) Wattbox (No HA Driver) Would like to have: *Z-Wave and Zigbee support (Mostly Z-Wave switches, but have some lights Zigbee) *Google Home integration *Nest Integration *Control living room and theater on same system (Google Home can only control one Harmony) bonus for bedroom control. Just an FYI - C4 has Composer Home Edition which gives you 100 programming control of your system, it is a 1 time 149 fee. And several Google Home Minis throughout the house. As far as C4, will give you 80 who love C4 vs here which is 80 who hate C4 - this is a DIY forum so they will knock any dealer program. Currently everything is on SmartThings, with Harmony in the living room. I just finished installing a home theater and need to set up more controls for it, and the rest of the house.
